Last week leading up to the exhibition!
P6's at International School Moshi have been working hard on their Exhibition for 2010. After much debate, they have chosen to call their exhibition PEOPLE POWER with an exhibition Central Idea of People work together to make the world a better place. This year the exhibition falls under the Transdisciplinary Theme of 'How we express ourselves.' Students were asked to think about what issue they felt so strongly about, that they wanted to shout it out to the world. Over the December break, they kept a Thought Journal to record their thoughts and this helped them to identify the issue they felt strongest about. Based on the issue they identified, each student came up with their own central idea, which is connected to the exhibition central idea.
The past five weeks have been busy ones as students followed the process to conduct their inquiries into the issues they identified. As the P6 class is a class of only 11 students, the P5 class after working on a unit of inquiry on Persuasion, have come in for the final two weeks to work with the P6's as their Busy Worker Bees. The P6 students had to give an oral presentation about what their exhibition was about, and the P5's then chose what issue they were interested in.
The P5 class are making brochures, flyers etc for the P6's and learning about the Exhibition Process, so they will be prepared for their Exhibition next year.
Here are some photos of the process we've gone through.
